Moda Flat Two-Bathroom Renovation

Two bathrooms in a 1960s flat in Moda, Kadıköy, were renewed. They were small (4.2 and 2.6 m²) with a 2.6 m ceiling. The solution was to enlarge the sense of space with wall-hung cabinets that free the floor.

Installation summary

• Sedef 100 oak-veneer wall-hung cabinet and round LED mirror in the master bathroom
• A compact Damla 60 cabinet in the guest bathroom
• A Zeytin 35 tall unit for towels and cleaning supplies
• Steel back-plates to reinforce anchoring in the old walls
• Production 12 working days, installation two days

The load capacity of the old walls was tested before installation and steel plates were placed behind the walls for the wall-hung cabinets. The owner said the bathroom 'felt bigger' once the floor tiles were fully visible.

Result

Thanks to wall-hung cabinets and mirrors the visual floor area of both bathrooms increased by about 20%. The round LED mirror removed the need for an extra wall light and, together with the ceiling lamp, provided sufficient lighting.
